Bas launches Bas Discover - a new trend research and analysis service

Knowledge of new trends, concepts and innovations in the retail area is crucial in order to develop successful retail projects. Focussing on this area is therefore really important for us at Bas. We travel the world gathering material, analysing and documenting innovations and are passionate about understanding the changing demands of various consumer groups.

For example, a new customer trend may open up new business opportunities. Changing customer behaviour may pave the way for new distribution channels. And new materials may result in new ways of displaying products. We use Bas Discover as a component in our work process and continuously inform our colleges about the latest trends in the retail area. Furthermore, the Bas Discover service is available to our customers in the form of specific research, trend forecasting, competitor analysis, product comparisons, inspirational trips, etc. The results can be presented as reports or at seminars and hands-on workshops.

The Bas Discovery service is very much the responsibility of Caroline Björkholm who has been employed at Bas since August 2004, working with trend research and concept development. Caroline has a thorough experience of international trend research having lived 8 years in London working at the 20.20 Retail Design Consultancy with clients such as Orange, Boots and Sainsbury's. Her position as 20.20 was Creative Consultant within their research arm Radar. Caroline's education comprises the Central St Martins Collage of Art and Design and graduation from London Collage of Printing's BA Retail Design Management course in 2002.
